Patients with Special Needs
For patients with special needs, it can be challenging to find an experienced and sympathetic dentist. At Sedation Dental Center, we are committed to providing safe and effective special needs dentistry in the San Diego area. Our team will work with you or your loved one to make sure the procedure is as comfortable and painless as possible.
Dentistry for Adults and Children with Special Needs
Patients with special needs often require accommodations to ensure that their visit goes smoothly. Our anesthesiologist can administer sedatives or anesthesia to help ease patient anxiety and to allow us to complete procedures that would otherwise be challenging. Patients with special needs may have trouble keeping their mouth open or staying still, but sedation dentistry can keep you or your loved one safely asleep while our dentists work.
Dr. Steven DeLisle is a board-certified Dental Anesthesiologist who has treated thousands of patients with special needs. He has worked with patients who have a variety of conditions, including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. DeLisle also has experience with patients with complex medical conditions such as diabetes and chronic pain.
One of our goals as a dental practice is to remove barriers that patients have in receiving dental care. So the Sedation Dental Center of San Diego is offering a $1000 scholarship that is to be applied towards dental treatment for those meeting the following requirements: The patient must have Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, or an intellectual disability. The patient is without dental insurance and the San Diego Regional Center is unable to pay for treatment. Please apply on our website to be considered for this scholarship.
